Our Mission
To provide a warm and welcoming community where children can learn, discover, and grow while exploring the outdoors and learning jewish values.
Our Vision
Ta’am Teva believes the best classroom is one with no ceiling and no walls, where children have the freedom and space to explore and follow their own curiosity about the world around them. At Ta’am Teva, children spend most of their time outdoors in all kinds of weather, where seasonal changes are experienced before their very eyes.
As children explore and investigate questions about the outdoor world, experienced instructors teach age appropriate skills. From learning how to put their coats on, to observing the number of seeds in a sunflower, to participating in storytelling and drama activities with our on-site storyteller, students are engaged in building learning skills that will serve them now and in the future.
Ta’am Teva understands the importance of the Jewish principles of Tikkun Olam (care for the environment) and Kehillah (community). Ta’am Teva sees the organization as part of a larger community. Ta’am Teva hosts events that bring together people from different communities to celebrate these values and participate in fun outdoor activities.
Our Values
We pride ourselves on our commitment and continual practice of each of the following values:
Kehillah or Community
We encourage children to recognize ways to care for the world around them. Children help their community by showing compassion for each other and learning to appreciate even tiny creatures like bugs and worms
Resilience
At Ta’am Teva we believe that children are capable of accomplishing difficult tasks. We encourage children to gain life skills such as putting on their own gear, being responsible for their own belongings and taking on challenges
D’rash or Inquiry
Gratitude
Tikkun Olam
Tikkun Olam means to care for the whole world- plants, animals, the environment and people. We see the outdoors as an amazing learning space and want children to develop a connection to nature as well as each other.

A Quote From Our Founder
“We live in a fast paced hectic world and children need a place where they can go to find the calm and peacefulness that nature provides. They need time and space to slow down, observe their world and learn through hand on explorations. They build confidence by learning to take appropriate risks and persevering through a hard task. These are life long skills that will help your child be a self motivated engaged learner.”
