A Day In The Life
Look at a day in the life of a community member at
Ta’am Teva preschool!
Daily Schedule
Each day we have a similar schedule that provides structure for what we teach.
Daily Schedule
Each day we have a similar schedule that provides structure for what we teach.
Arrival
Children go inside and put their backpacks away and change into outdoor gear. We provide visual guides but encourage the children to try getting ready on their own. Putting on your own gear encourages a sense of independence and also helps to develop executive function skills.
Physical Activity
After they are ready to go out, we get our bodies moving with a physical activity it might be a hike, an obstacle course or riding bikes. It’s important to get their bodies moving! Research shows that our brains work better after physical activity.
Community Circle
Next, everyone comes together for a community circle. First we do a calming breath or yoga pose to help us focus. During our circle we may hear a story, sing songs or play a game. At the end, we review what activities are open for the day.
Outdoor Exploration
After our circle children are free to choose which activity they want to do. Our mud kitchen, which is a favorite, is always open. There are art explorations and literacy activities daily. Children can also use tools, engage in science experiments or even work in the garden.
Snack & Clean Up
All of this hard work makes children hungry so we stop for a nutritious snack. Here the children are enjoying red bud jelly and nut butter which they made from trees at Ta’am Teva.
